Novel 3D printing processes and innovations of existing processes occur frequently as additive manufacturing expands into the established manufacturing marketplace. The 3D printing processes discussed previously are the most regularly used, particularly the powder bed fusion, vat photopolymerization, and material extrusion processes.
Vat Polymerization is a method in 3D printing to print 3D objects by using photopolymerization, which is the process of exposing liquid polymers to ultraviolet (UV) light to turn liquid into solids. Digital light processing technology is used for the process. Vat Photo polymerisation is another popular 3D printing process. The process is based on hardening of photopolymers on exposure to the ultraviolet radiation. The photopolymer is in the form of a liquid resin filled inside a Vat, that is why, it got the name Vat Photo polymerisation.Stereolithography was invented in 1986 by Charles Hull at the time when he founded his company 3D Systems.
